Target intervention

Target intervention work in urban or semi urban area. They will among 4 High Risk group (FSW, MSM, TG,IDUs) and Bridge group(Trucker and Migrant)they will work in specific component. The objective of Targeted Intervention Programme is to reduce the rate of transmission among the most vulnerable and marginalized population.


Components of Targeted Interventions
1. Behaviour change communication A. One to one contact

D. Group meeting
E. Hotspot level meeting
F. DIC level meeting
2. STI management A. Screening of Symptomatic STI
B. Refer all high risk groups to the nearest government hospital.
C. Have STI screening for them by a private provider at a program-owned clinic on a quarterly basis.
3. Commodity distribution. A. Ti will fulfill the condom and needle for every HRG that pays for safe sex. Needle syringes are provided by SACS to the project.
4. Referral and linkage A. All HRGs should be referred to the ICTC for HIV testing. All HRGs should be sent to the nearest ICTC for half-yearly basis for HIV screening. All HRGS should screening for syphilis testing for half-yearly basis.
5. Enabling Environment NGO should work with HRGs with minimise Stigma and discrimination.

In Bihar 15 Ti works in different districts, each NGO works on typology basis. That is, 7 NGOs are working on core composite and 8 NGOs are exclusive Ti.


Link worker Scheme

LWS was started to fulfill the basic need of rural HIV prevention to make the villagers self-dependent in dealing with issues related to HIV/AIDS through volunteerism and developing a network of supervisors, link workers, HRGs and vulnerable groups.

2. People are freely discussed on sexual problem realted to STI
3. People are self motivated for HIV Testing
4. Specially women’s are aware about HIV AIDS & STI and they also do the HIV test regularly
